Cozy social distancing garden.
Updated: Aug 14
In light of months now, of staying home and avoiding gatherings, I decided to turn my garden into a day and evening retreat for safely gathering with family and friends. With three levels of patio space we can safely gather in small groups.
In the daytime this garden is sunny, wind sheltered, and very private; in the evening it transforms into an intimate bejeweled garden of lights highlighting foliage complemented with soft music, a fire pit and the soothing sounds of a running fountain. The beauty of this project is 75% of the lighting system is made of recycled demo and left over mockup LED fixtures. All the LED lighting is low voltage, and the total lighting system uses less than 100 total watts of 12 Volt power. The garden also includes color changing down lights connected to the eves of the house for adding a moonlight effect, as well as exterior bluetooth speakers, a two tiered fountain, fire pit and a wall mounted radiant heater.
